LIVING IN THE GIFT
“...human beings naturally desire to give. We are born into gratitude: the knowledge we have received and the desire to give in turn. Far from nudging reluctant people to give unto others against their lazy impulses, today’s economy pressures us to deny our innate generosity and channel our gifts instead toward the perpetuation of a system that serves almost no one. A sacred economy is one that liberates our desire to work, our desire to give”
WE ARE RUNNING MORE OF OUR PROGRAMS IN THE GIFTING ECONOMY
We offer the course to you as a gift, as an experiment in the world of creating new systems that are different from the old ones, trusting the generosity of participants to support us.
Deciding what to gift?
If you saw life the world and life as a gift, through generous eyes, with a feeling of gratitude, consider:
Your current financial conditions - not so much about what you can pay, as there is likely to always be things competing in your budget. Rather, what priority is it for you to grow and learn these things? And considerating that along with your financial situation, what seems right for you?
The value of a course, based on current market value and number of days the course entails. The average market value for the work we offer is between $200-$300 per day of training offered. You might like to revise your assessment of value after doing the course up or down.
We other forms of exchange other than money, typically we would suggest an exchange of $20 per hour for hours engaging in the course - this could be cleaning, childcare, IT support, or something specific to your skill set. Again consider what seems right to you, and what is within your means.
